Mississippi Coast Fly Fishers

Purpose: We are a group of fly fishers who share an interest in fly fishing on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and nearby areas. Our members fish both fresh and saltwater for everything from bream to trout. Mississippi Coast Fly Fishers is affiliated with the International Federation of Fly Fishers and Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing.

General Meetings are held at 7:00 PM on the first and third Thursday of every month except December (we have a meeting the first Thursday only). We normally have a guest speaker or some other activity. Fly Casting Sessions are held during daylight saving time starting at 6:30 PM before each meeting.

Cedar Lake Bluegill Fly Fishing Tournament

Open to all licensed fishermen or fisher women. All participants are requested to register prior to June 06, 2015 and remit the registration fee of $25.00 prior to that day. There will be no refunds. This registration fee will include lunch by “Your Mama’z House” and a fish fry directly after the weigh in. All participants are required to sign in the morning of the tournament and choose your lunch choices, Your Mama’z House uses only fresh groceries and they will buy the groceries that morning to prepare the lunch meal.

Sign in will be at “Camp Contributions”. The boat launch will be open with ample parking at “Camp Contributions”. After all participants have signed in, fishing will start at six AM. The scales will close at six PM. Participants that fail to sign in the morning of the tournament at “Camp Contributions” will be disqualified

All fish must be caught using a “fly rod” and flies, wet, dry, or poppers. The intent of this tournament will be to promote fly fishing with artificial baits consistent with “Fly Fishing”. Spinning rods or beetle spins, earth worms, minnows, bait balls, or etc. will not be permitted baits. Only fly rods and artificial baits will be permitted. All boats including kayaks, canoes, bass boats, tube floats and etc. will be permitted.

“Camp Contributions” is located on an oxbow lake off of the Tchoutacabouffa River. The address is: Road 536, house number 5132, Biloxi, MS., about a mile North of I-10 @ Cedar Lake Exit, Road 536 is on the East side of Cedar Lake Road.  Camp Contributions has a concrete boat launch with ample parking and a wash station should you desire to wash your boat after the day of fishing.
